While addressing to the local media, Senator Akram Wali Muhammad after, being elected as the Chairman of “Senate Standing Committee for Industry and Production”, expressed his deep interest to enhance the industrial and production sector of the country.

He stressed that there is the need to allocate part of the budgets of industrial companies to ensure continuous development of production. He continued by saying that setting priorities for export-orientated industries and those that provide more job opportunities is very important to reach our goal for a flourishing Pakistan.

He urged the need for offering all forms of support to small production units to enhance their competitiveness. He said that there is the need of making an inventory of production capacities in the industrial sector and studying them in order to pave the way for making the best use of them to enhance industrial production and quality. He added the significance of the small and medium industries stressing how they constitute the backbone of the economies in almost all the developing counties.

In the end, he highlighted that there are certain situations where decisive and rapid decisions have to be taken to maintain stability for the industrial projects that face financing problems.
